Arrival

Through customs, only a 21 day visa stamp though - have to do something about that.

The hotel Grand Boulevard... Well; it was grand once. Now it’s rather faded although pleasantly so. Cavernous lobby smells of wood rot - but in a good way. I only find one roach in my room and am very disappointed by its small size and lack of wall climbing ability. So I can't even write about 'roaches climbing the walls' which somehow I feel I should.

I’m issued with breakfast coupon and we make arrangements to meet rest of the tour party at 9am tomorrow with "wet clothes". Well; I know what he means.

Some of us walk out to the baywalk but we can't see much of the view because it's too dark. Noisy and smelly but very cheerful. The food smells are encouraging. The place is absolutely chocka-block with people. We drink pineapple crush and listen to a pair of singers / comedians working the crowd.
Feels more dangerous than Korea but then again Korea is one of the safest places to stay. Manage not to get mugged and return to hotel.

Get a reasonable night's sleep and wake up early to take some photos from the top-floor 'Stargazer' lounge. Not sure if it's called that because the wind emoved the roof or that Rainbow once played there.

Anyway - here are the views...
